NIADA ARTIST EARLY DOLL GERTRUDE FLORIAN MARDI GRAS BUST

Description

For sale is a lovely large bust by early NIADA artist Gertrude Florian. This shoulder plate measures 4” tall and 3” across. It is signed on the back ‘G Florian’ and ‘Mardi Gras’ – the title of this particular doll. In excellent condition. Gertrude Florian is one of the founding members of NIADA in 1963 and worked in hand molded clay. The face is beautifully hand painted with lovely character details that Florian is known for.
She has beautiful coloring with dimples and elaborate hairdo.
I’ve been listing Mom’s items for some time now.  She’s collected a variety of items over the years, the majority dolls and toys. I’m sorry to say I list sporadically as I teach full time and am a Mom. If you like the items you see, please put me in favorites so you’ll catch me when I list.
