Vintage Black Storybook Charcter Rag Doll / Stuff Tiger / Book. Condition is "Used".
This stuffed boy rag doll is styled after the fairy tale beloved character from a book teaching colors and anti-bulling . Original story was wrote by a English teacher at the turn of the century about a Little Asian Indian boy is is bullied by tigers in India . He is 23” OOAK handmade cloth rag doll , dressed in a felt bright red jacket / blue flannel trousers ( faded in places with age ) , purple /red/ gold exotic slippers with his green umbrella. He is loosely stuffed making him even more charming as he cuddles his tiger . The vintage Gund Plush 12" tiger with Sleeping Eyes Stuffed Animal Toy - great pre-owned condition, some minor wear from love & handling, fur has minor wear, and his stuffing has broken down over time which makes him slouchy but adds to his character. The book is : From Saalfield Publishing Co., Akron, Ohio, 1932. Hardcover. Condition: Fair. No Dust Jacket Condition: Fair Akron, Ohio: The Saalfield Publishing Co., 1932. First thus [1932]. Part of Saalfield's Calico Classics series. Illustrated throughout, mainly in color. Calico patterned hardcover with illustration, twenty pages. Covers heavily rubbed at the edges with chipped and cloth repaired spine, contents still loose but attached to covers with cloth binding tape , text block sound, pages clean with a couple of very minor smudges, some minor chips, tears, name and date inside on front page .
